Festive and fun chocolate dipped pretzel rods are the salty and sweet combo you’ve always needed! Delicious dark chocolate, salty pretzels, and fun sprinkles. Great treat for parties and for gifting others. So quick and so easy to make. So far, I’ve done a batch for Valentine’s Day and a batch for St. Patrick’s Day. You can bet I’ll be making some for the 4th of July too! Perfect for all occasions and all holidays.

Valentine’s Day Pretzel Rods

Zhuzhing Up Pretzel Rods

Materials Needed:

  • 2 large cookie sheets lined with parchment or silicone mats
  • Small sauce pan
  • Heatproof mixing bowls
  • Spatula
  • Spoon
  • Tall drinking glass

Ingredients:

  1. 30 Pretzel Rods (original)
  2. 12-14 oz dark chocolate
  3. 2-3 oz of ruby chocolate or white chocolate for drizzling
  4. Spoon
  5. 4 oz sprinkles of all kinds

Process:

Line two cookies sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats. Place a small saucepan filled 1/3 of the way with water over medium-high heat. Break up the chocolate into rough pieces (or pour chocolate chips) into a heatproof mixing bowl and place over the saucepan. Make sure the bowl is not touching the water. Use a spatula to occasionally stir the chocolate as it melts. Once melted, remove from heat and pour chocolate into a tall drinking glass. The tall glass is perfect for dipping the pretzel rods.

Dip each pretzel rod about 3/4 of the way into chocolate and set on lined cookie sheet. If drizzling with other chocolate, go ahead and melt in a separate heatproof bowl and use a spoon to drizzle over dark chocolate layer. Add sprinkles of all shapes and colors. Place in refrigerator to set for at least 2 hours. Can be stored in airtight container at room temperature or, depending on humidity, in refrigerator.
