These easy 3 ingredient lemon bars are a delicious summer dessert to bake for any occasion. Here’s how to make them for your family!

Who else is ready for summer barbecues? We’re loving our first full weekend of warm weather here at Two Kids and a Coupon and we’re loving grilling out and having fires in the fire pit. The warmer temps have us in the mood for summery foods and desserts and we wanted to share these delicious 3 ingredient lemon bars that we know your family will also love.

This simple dessert recipe that kids can help make is ready in minutes and can be made with just a couple dollars worth of ingredients. You may already have what you need in the pantry, or can pick up the supplies the next time you are at the store. It’s the perfect dessert to mix up when you need a last minute treat or are just craving something sweet and the recipe makes plenty so that you can share.

Easy 3 Ingredient Lemon Bars

To make this easy dessert recipe, you will need 1 Box Lemon Cake Mix, a 21 oz Can Lemon Pie Filling and powered sugar. Al of these can be found in the baking aisle at your local grocer, and I’ve also included links here in case you’re an Amazon shopper like me.

In a large mixing bowl or using a stand mixer, combine your cake mix and pie filling. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Pour your mixture into a baking pan and bake for 12-15 minutes or until lemon bars have cooked. These are gooey, so they will not be completely solid in the center when hot.

Remove these easy 3 ingredient lemon bars from the oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. Using a knife, gently cut them into bars. They may be a bit crumbly while warm, so using a small spatula or cake server can be helpful when getting them out of the pan. These will be hot, so be sure to help any little bakers who might be assisting with the pan and removal.

This dessert is best when served warm, but are also delicious when cool as well. Store the leftovers (if there are any!) in an airtight container to enjoy at a later time.

These easy 3 ingredient lemon bars are a perfect last minute dish to take to summer barbecues or gatherings and are always a hit. Looking for other delicious summer desserts? Be sure to check out our tropical OREO fluff and our Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls Cups.
