This fantastic homemade dairy-free ice cream is the best! With almond milk, chocolate chips, and slivered almonds, and cocoa powder, this delicious treat is sure to satisfy.
So I’ll admit it… Ice cream is not normally my friend. Joseph and I are both lactose intolerant, but we each have a sweet tooth.
Making this homemade dairy-free ice cream is so simple and we don’t have to deal with the tummy ache.
I LOVE this recipe because it’s not super sweet and has a limited amount of sugar, but it still hits the spot.
Give it a try! We’d love to see how it turns out.
Homemade Chocolate Almond Chip Ice Cream
Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 can coconut milk
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup dairy free chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup dairy free Kahlua liquor
Instructions
With an ice cream maker
- Freeze your ice cream maker bowl for at least 6 hours prior to making your ice cream.
- Add all ingredients to the bowl, except for the chocolate chips and sliced almonds. Turn on machine to start mixing.
- After 2 minutes, slowly pour in the chocolate chips and sliced almond and let the machine do the rest of the work.
Without an ice cream maker
- Wet a bread pan, place in freezer for one hour.
- Mix all ingredients together and place in frozen pan and place cling wrap over the top to cover and place back in the freezer.
- Take the ice cream pan out every 30 minutes and stir vigorously with a spatula, re-cover, then place back in the freezer. Repeat this step 4-6 times or until you feel the ice cream is the right consistency.
- Ice cream should be ready after 2-3 hours!
Tips
- Every ice cream machine can take different amounts of time to solidify the ice cream.
