Why you'll love this recipe

  • Did someone say popsicle? These banana yogurt popsicles are refreshing and will cool you off in the middle of summer.
  • Bananas are the base of these popsicles, making them healthier with less sugar than a store-bought popsicle.
  • The topping ideas are endless! You can be creative with the yogurt flavor and toppings, creating variations and combinations.
  • They are kid-friendly. Your kiddos will love helping you make them!

Ingredients
  • ripe bananas - these are the base to this healthy popsicle recipe
  • plain, vanilla, or flavored dairy-free yogurt - the yogurt acts as the creamy outside of the popsicle, giving them that frozen yogurt or custard taste.
  • toppings - sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, and freeze-dried strawberries. The ideas are endless!

Instructions

Peel and cut the bananas in half. Insert a wooden popsicle stick into the bottom of each banana.

Place the banana popsicles on a baking tray lined with parchment, then place them in the freezer for 30 minutes or until mostly frozen.

Once frozen, remove and dip in yogurt, then sprinkle or roll the banana popsicle in toppings.

Place them back in the freezer for 10 minutes. Remove from the freezer and enjoy!

What toppings work well on a frozen yogurt banana pop?

The variations for frozen yogurt banana pops are endless! Here are some of my family favorites:

  • Strawberry Banana - Use strawberry yogurt (or plain or vanilla) and roll the yogurt in finely chopped freeze-dried strawberries.
  • Chocolate Chips - roll the banana pop in mini chocolate chips
  • Raspberries - use freeze-dried raspberries rather than freeze-dried strawberries
  • Sprinkles - roll the frozen yogurt banana pop in rainbow sprinkles. This happens to be my daughter's favorite! Try themed sprinkles such as red, white, and blue for a festive snack or dessert.
  • Toasted crushed nuts or toasted coconut flakes - roll the yogurt-dipped banana in your favorite chopped nuts or toasted coconut flakes.
  • Peanut butter - drizzle softened peanut butter or your favorite nut butter over the frozen yogurt.

I have a frozen banana candy bar recipe on my site that is one of my family's favorite summertime treats to make! Just like this frozen yogurt banana pops, the creative variations are endless!
