Chocolate Candy Hot Cocoa Spoons
Over the weekend we made chocolate candy hot cocoa spoons to sell in the craft fair as a Girl Scout troop. I was amazed at how easy and fun it was (and a little bit messy too). I posted a photo on Instagram and got messages from some of you asking how to make them. I am more than happy to share our tips and tricks after testing a few different methods. I think the chocolate candy hot cocoa spoons are great for a hot drink bar and great to give as a gift. One of the things about this treat that we love most is that is allergy friendly because we made it with Enjoy Life Mini Chips.
To make 30 spoons you will need the following ingredients and supplies. We used Enjoy Life because it is allergy friendly which makes it so that all of our girls can enjoy the finished goodies.
- Wooden Spoons
- Mini Chocolate Morsels
- Crushed Candy Canes
- Marshmallows
- Sprinkles
- Parchment Paper
- Cookie Baking Sheets
- Clear Bags for Packaging
The wooden spoons can be hard to find around town. You can grab them on Amazon using my affiliate link.
Okay, so let’s make some.
Melt about a cup of chocolate chips in a deep and narrow glass container. Microwaves vary. We melted them for 45 seconds then stirred until the entire contents were creamy. Dip a spoon in the melted chocolate then twirl it around to let excess drip back into the container.
Pour candy or sprinkles over the melted chocolate. We did this over a bowl to collect the extra and use on the next spoon. Place the spoon on parchment paper that has been placed on a cookie sheet to cool. When the cookie sheet is filled, place in the refrigerator to chill faster.
For some of the spoons we placed them on the parchment paper after the chocolate dipping then placed marshmallows on them.
Once the spoons are all chilled, package them in bags with ribbon.
The chocolate candy hot cocoa spoons create a great way to add that festive touch to a cup of hot chocolate. Did you know that Enjoy Life’s morsels are allergy friendly, meaning that they are free from gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, egg, sesame, soy and sulfites. This makes our family so very happy because we can all enjoy them in our life together!
Cheers to chocolate, candy and hot cocoa!
