6 bombs

How to make peppermint hot chocolate bombs. These have white chocolate peppermint on the outside and milk chocolate hot cocoa on the inside. When you pour hot water or milk over them, the shell melts for a cup of hot chocolate.
Instead of using milk chocolate, these use candy cane candy melts for the shell. Inside, there's hot chocolate powder, marshmallows, and crushed candy canes.
These taste really good, and they are a fun new flavor for hot chocolate bombs. I used a 2 inch diameter mold, which is a good size for adding fillings and still able to fit in a mug.
These make great gifts. You can wrap them in plastic and place in mug or package a few in a cookie box.

Recipe details
Ingredients
- 8 ounce peppermint candy melts
- 6 tablespoons hot cocoa mix
- 1/8 cup crushed peppermint candies
- 18-24 mini marshmallows (I like to use dehydrated marshmallows)
Instructions
- Set the ceramic plate in the freezer and crush the peppermint candies. This is to place the candy pieces on once they set up to keep them cold so they don't melt.
- Melt the peppermint candy melts in the microwave in 30 second intervals or use a double boiler.
- Add a spoonful of melted candy to each mold cavity. Use the back of a spoon to spread the candy. I recommend using two thin coats. Reserve leftover melted candy to use on top of the bombs to add peppermint pieces.
- Place the candy filled molds in the freezer for 5 minutes. Repeat if needed to make 12 half spheres for 6 peppermint hot chocolate bombs.
- Heat a small frying pan over low to medium heat. Place the top edge of the molded candy on the pan to melt the candy slightly to make a smooth edge. Repeat with 6 of the pieces.
- Fill each of the 6 half spheres with 1 tablespoon of hot cocoa mix, crushed peppermint pieces, and a few marshmallows.
- Then start heating the tops to melt the edges as you did for the bottom pieces. Then place the top on the filled bottom and hold for a few seconds.
- Use a spoon or the Wilton melt and decorate bottle to place melted white chocolate candy on top of the white peppermint hot chocolate bombs. Add crushed peppermint on top.
- To use your white chocolate bombs peppermint, place in a cup and add 6 ounces of hot milk or water. Stir. The hot cocoa will be hot, so let it cool before serving to children.

I dont understand #1 of instructions about the ceramic plate and freezer.
I just put a Peppermint (or Mint) Chocolate Lindt Ball into HC or coffee, along with a candy cane, and mix.....they both melt very quickly. Absolutely delish..
