In this post I’m gonna be showing you how to easily make a better and healthier version of the amazing Pumpkin Spice Latte at home.

It is pumpkin everything season and one thing that I couldn’t forget to make is the amazing Pumpkin Spice Latte. This homemade recipe is very easy and much healthier as it is all made from scratch with fresh ingredients.

With better and fewer ingredients, this Pumpkin Spice Latte tastes even better than the ones from Starbucks!

For the purpose of making it healthier and most of it from scratch, I am also showing you how to roast your own pumpkin for this homemade recipe but you can also use ready to go canned pumpkin purée if you prefer!

After watching this video, you’ll be surprised with how easy it can be to make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte at home and this way you don’t need to wait until it’s fall to have it again, you can have it any time of the year, whenever you feel like it. Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Butternut Squash or 3 tbsp Canned Pumpkin Purée
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • ½ tsp Ginger, ground
  • ¼ tsp Cloves, ground
  • ½ cup Espresso or Strong Coffee
Instructions
Roasting the pumpkin
Pre heat the oven to 200°C/400°F
Peel the squash and cut it into small dices
Place it flat on a tray and bake it in the oven for 45 mins or until soft
Once you can poke it with a knife without any resistance, you can remove the tray from the oven
Assembly
In a pot over medium heat, pour the milk and add all the spices, sugar and roasted pumpkin (or pumpkin purée)
Once it comes to a boil, turn the heat off
Using a hand blender, blitz it until it is smooth with no pumpkin chunks
Pour the strongly brewed coffee or espresso into a mug and then pour the milk mixture over it
Finish it with whipped cream, if wanted and enjoy!
Tips
  • Cut the squash into small dices so it doesn't take too long too cook
  • Keep and eye on the squash when baking it so it doesn't burn or caramelizes too much
  • Serve it hot or add some ice cubes for a "Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte" version
