If you have GERD I would not take a lemon ginger turmeric shot because it can aggravate your already irritated esophagus.
You can still get the benefits of these shots by taking a powdered supplement in the form of a pill containing ginger and turmeric. This way the spices won’t touch your sensitive throat. Your stomach acid will break down the coating on the pill and your body will absorb the herbs.

I prefer to make lemon ginger turmeric shots in a juicer but if you don’t have one don’t worry. You can use a blender. Here are the instructions on how to make this recipe in both pieces of equipment.
In A Juicer
Using A Blender
- Rinse off the lemon, ginger and turmeric with water to clean.
- Slice the peel off of the lemon using a sharp knife. The lemon peel will make your shots taste bitter!
- Add the lemon, ginger, and turmeric to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer.
If you’re using the blender method, chances are your blender is going to turn yellow from the turmeric. If you didn’t already know this let me tell you now, turmeric stains. It stains your clothes, countertops, skin and lastly the blender.
Use two tablespoons of baking soda or baking powder in the blender and add some water. Run the blender on high for two minutes. This should take care of the stain!
You can add other ingredients to your Lemon Ginger Turmeric Shots to change the flavor or boost the health benefits. Try adding:
- Honey for sweetness and additional immune support.

In my personal experience fresh juice will last for up to two days in a mason jar if you keep it in the refrigerator. Under less than ideal conditions juice will only last 24 hours like if you use a plastic container, thermal container or milk bottle.
