OK this is seriously next level.


I posted a pic of this to Instagram and had like 15 people reach out asking “WHAT IS THAT? *drool emoji*”


So even though I am quite literally in the middle of moving and am surrounded by boxes, I HAD to take the time to type out this recipe.


The good news, it’s suuuuuper simple!


Before we get started, let’s highlight some of the shortcuts I’ll be using in this recipe:


  • We’ll be using the store bought pizza dough in a can – I used thin crust for this, but regular will work too.
  • For the chicken in the dip, I bought a ready-to-eat rotisserie chicken from the store and shredded it by hand.


You can also just cook some chicken yourself and shred it, but helloooo we’re going for easy remember?!


Preheat oven to 375°.


First, we’ll prep our pinwheels.


Now I’ve already written a recipe for Vic’s Tricks To…Garlic Bread Pinwheels, but this one is slightly different, since we won’t be adding cheese (there’s a ton in the dip already!).


First, melt 3 tbsp butter, 2 tsp garlic powder (or 3-4 cloves of minced garlic), and 2 tsp of oregano in the microwave. Like 1 min or so


Unroll the pizza dough and form a rectangle. Then spread the butter mixture across the dough, spreading to all edges.

Starting with the shorter side, roll it back up and cut 2 inch slices.

Place them all around the center of a round cake pan or baking dish.

Now to make the dip!


It’s literally as easy as mixing the ingredients together – aka my favorite kind of prep.


In a large bowl, use a spatula to mix together 2 cups of the shredded chicken, a block of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup of the hot sauce of your choice (I like Franks or Louisiana), 1/2 cup of blue cheese dressing, and a handful of blue cheese crumbles.

Vic Trick: OK yes, if you really want to go against all things TRUE to Buffalo and use ranch dressing instead, you can.


Once that’s all mixed, place it into the center of the pinwheels.

Pop them into the oven for about 15 minutes or until the pinwheels are golden brown.


Top with some blue cheese crumbles and HOLY MOLY this stuff is crack.

So perfect for football, tailgates, parties, or just to stuff your face alone while you watch Hallmark.

Ingredients

  • 1 can pizza dough in a can (thin crust or regular)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (Franks or Louisiana are my faves)
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese (or ranch)
  • Blue cheese crumbles
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°.
Unroll the pizza dough into a flat rectangle.
Melt butter with garlic powder and oregano in the microwave and spread the mixture on top of the dough, reaching to the edges.
Starting with the shorter side, roll it back up and cut 2 inch slices, then align them around the outside edge of a round cake pan or baking dish.
In a bowl, using a spatula, combine chicken, cream cheese, hot sauce, blue cheese dressing, and a handful of blue cheese crumbles.
Place it into the center of the pinwheels and place into the oven for 15 minutes or until the pinwheels are golden brown.
Top with more blue cheese crumbles and enjoy!

    I was salivating until you got to blue cheese. So I'll be going with ranch and a different kind of cheese because the recipe really does sound fabulous otherwise! LOL
