Crispy Chipotle Shrimp in creamy avocado dip with a drizzle of hot honey is a great combination for your next appetizer dish!


You got to try this easy recipe! Super tasty using the brand Siete chipotle BBQ gluten free tortilla chips for a crispy and spicy gluten free shrimp dish. The combination of the chipotle bbq chips and hot honey on the shrimp is the BOMB!


All you need is:

  • 15 Large shrimp
  • 1 bag of chipotle BBQ @siete tortillas
  • 1 egg
  • Salt, pepper and smoked paprika to taste
  • Hot honey @traderjoes
  • 1 cup of creamy avocado dip ( 2 small avocados, 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt, lime juice, salt and pepper)
  • Toppings: chopped onions &tomatoes, Pepita seed & cilantro


It is a great recipe for appetizer or make tacos as well.


I made a creamy avocado dip as the base, them place the crispy shrimp on top, and garnish with fresh tomatoes, onions, pepita seeds and fresh cilantro. Then drizzle with a touch of hot honey. Just a burst of flavors in one bite!

A delicious treat and tangy bite.

Seasoned the shrimp with salt and pepper, then pass them through eggs wash and the chipotle bbq chips crumbs.

Then pan fried in avocado oil for a crispy finish.

Ingredients

  • 15 Large shrimp
  • 1 bag of chipotle BBQ Siete tortillas
  • 1 egg

  • Hot honey from Trader Joes 
  • 1 cup of creamy avocado dip ( 2 small avocados, 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt, lime juice, salt and pepper) 
  • Toppings: chopped onions &tomatoes, Pepita seeds & cilantro 
Instructions

Have the shrimp, defrosted, de shelled and deveined. Then pad dry with a paper towel and simply seasoned with salt and pepper. Then pass them through egg wash (1 egg +1 tsp of water) and lightly coat it the the chips crumbs. Let it sit for a few minutes while you make the avocado dip. Then cook in cast iron pan with avocado oil about 3 minutes each side. First heat the oil and then turn the temp to medium to cook the shrimp and avoid burning the crust.
Avocado Dip: In a food processor or blender, place 2 small avocados, 1/4 cup of greek yogurt, the juice of 1 lime, salt and pepper to taste. Blend until smooth consistency .
Finely chop the tomatoes, white onions and cilantro for garnish.
How to Dishplay _it?
In a large plate or platter, place the avocado dip in the middle and spread around. then top off with the shrimp, tomatoes, onions, pepita seeds and fresh cilantro. Add more chips on the side.
