White Chocolate Halloween Oreo Bark
For a Halloween treat so simple it’s scary, this White Chocolate Oreo Bark only takes 5 minutes and a microwave to prep. With a double layer of creamy white chocolate, holiday-themed Oreos, M&M’s, candy corn and sprinkles this bark is quintessential Halloween.
My potholder caught on fire today. I’m talking full on smoldering with red embers and smoke. One second there’s a steak searing in my cast iron pan and the next the UPS guy’s distracting me with a delivery too big for my front door. The worst part is that I didn’t even remember ordering anything.
Check that, forgetting the stove was on until I smelled burning polyester was the worst part.
The good news is I finally have the replacement couch cushion I’ve been waiting on for two months. The not-so-good news is that I now have to replace a potholder. Since there’s no baking or cooking with an open flame until I make a Williams Sonoma run, today’s dessert is destined for the microwave.
Fortunately, I have a pantry stashed with candy corn and a killer recipe for Halloween bark. This no-bake treat only takes five minutes of prep time and is so fun to make it’s scary. With a double layer of creamy white chocolate, holiday-themed Oreos, M&M’s, candy corn and sprinkles this bark is quintessential Halloween. Make a batch for your costume party and another batch for the freezer, your future self will thank you.
White Chocolate Halloween Oreo Bark
Recipe details
Ingredients
- 24 ounces white chocolate bars chopped
- 18 Halloween Oreos broken into small pieces
- 1/3 cup candy corn
- 1/4 cup orange M&M's
- Halloween sprinkles
Instructions
- Line small baking sheet (10 inches x 15 inches) with parchment and set aside.
- In a heat safe bowl, melt white chocolate in microwave for 90 seconds. Stir and return to microwave for 30 seconds then stir until smooth and completely melted.
- Spread a thin layer of melted white chocolate onto parchment with an offset spatula then top with 12 Oreo cookies broken into bits.
- Spread remaining white chocolate over Oreo pieces and smooth in an even layer.
- Immediately top with reserved Oreos, M&M's, candy corn and sprinkles.
- Place pan in refrigerator and chill for 20 minutes. Once set, break bark into uneven shards.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week or in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
Tips
- Choose a quality white chocolate for this bark. I used Ghirardelli bars. No matter which brand you choose, do not substitute white chocolate chips because they are too waxy to melt properly.
- I used mini candy corn, orange M&M’s and Halloween sprinkles from Wal-Mart, but feel free to switch up the candy and the colors to put your own spooky spin on this recipe.
