Hey…remember me?!?! I meant to take a week long summer break, and ended up being blog silent for over a month…oops!! I haven’t just been eating popsicles and swimming all day long though…I have still been sharing over on INSTAGRAM. Make sure you follow along over there to see all of the EVERY DAY happenings at Orchard Slope. I share A LOT of stuff over there that NEVER makes it over here to the blog. ALRIGHTY…enough about that!! You are here for the COOKIES!! Me too. I am ALWAYS HERE FOR COOKIES!! If you are going to make ONE recipe from this blog…I would recommend this Banana Split Cookie Recipe:) You get all of they gooey goodness of a banana split, but WITH A COOKIE!!

If you have made my Fruit Pizza recipe, then this will all be familiar to you. Basically they are little mini fruit pizzas, but with a gooey chocolatey twist. AND who DOESN’T enjoy a gooey chocolatey twist?!?! AND what makes these so quick and easy to make, using pre-made cookie dough for the base. You can of course make your own sugar cookies ( THIS recipe is my grandma’s tried and true sugar cookies)…but trust me…these will get eaten so quickly that NOBODY will care that these are not FROM SCRATCH!! If you would rather have ONE BIG PAN of Banana Split cookie goodness, just follow the instructions to make FRUIT PIZZA, and then add the chocolate sauce before serving!!

If you need more simple crowd pleasing recipes, you will want to head HERE, HERE and HERE. OHHHH and HERE too…yum!!! Happy baking:) Let’s chat soon…I promise not to stay away for another month. JESS

Ingredients
Crust
  • 1 16 oz package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
Frosting
  • 1 8 oz cream cheese (I prefer the whipped type)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
Toppings
  • sliced strawberries
  • sliced bananas
  • chocolate syrup
Instructions

Bake cookies according to package instructions. Cool.
Mix cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar to make frosting.
Top each cookie with cream cheese frosting. Top with sliced strawberries and bananas. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top. DEVOUR!!
These are best when eaten RIGHT after making. They WILL last if you store them in the fridge, but the cookie will begin to get soggy. Or you can make a few hours ahead and add chocolate right before eating, bananas may brown though in the fridge. If you want more of a chocolate covered strawberry treat, skip the bananas.

THIS SOUNDS SO DELIGHTFUL AND WOULD LOVE TO MAKE THEM. MY QUESTION IS CAN YOU USE LEMON JUICE ON THE BANANAS TO PREVENT THEM FROM TURNING BROWN WHEN REFRIGERATED?
