Halloween Chocolate Covered Oreos
Halloween chocolate covered Oreo's are an easy and delicious treat that combine our favorite store bought sandwich cookie, white and dark chocolate and are topped with sprinkles, colored sugar, spooky eyes and candy.
Candy, treats and costumes are some of the best parts of Halloween. I am not sure what it is going to look like this year but if you live in a place where there will be no trick or treating or trunk or treating and you have young kids or grandkids why not have a little party at home?
The kids can have a scavenger hunt in the house and yard for candy and small toys and then they can dip and decorate Oreo cookies. Make sure to get a variety of candy corns, M&M's, sprinkles, colored sugar and other candy to decorate the cookies with. You can also use orange or black melting wafers from your local craft store if you want colored cookies too.
Make some of these chocolate covered Halloween Oreo's for yourself and then make a few extra to share with your neighbors.

Recipe details
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 20-25 Oreo Cookies
- 1 bag Chocolate Melting Wafers
- 1 bag White Melting Wafers
- Orange Sugar
- Black Sugar
- Fall Sprinkles
- Reese's Pieces
- Candy Spooky Eyes
- Assorted Candy
Instructions
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with a baking mat or parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl melt the chocolate melting wafers according to the manufactures directions.
- In another bowl, melt the white melting wafers according to the manufacturers directions.
- Dip the Oreo's into the melted chocolate using a fork, flip over the cookie and then shake the cookie gently to get the excess chocolate off. Then place on the parchment paper. While the chocolate is still wet add the candy decorations.
- Once you have dipped all of the cookies in the melted chocolate, use the leftover chocolate to drizzle over the cookies to make the white ones look like a mummy and also drizzle the chocolate over the other cookies for added decoration.
Tips
- You can also use chocolate chips, if you do, add 1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening, like Crisco to each 3/4 cup of chocolate chips.
- I do not recommend using white chocolate chips, they are very difficult to melt and typically burn.
- The cookies will last for 1 week in a covered container in the refrigerator, unless you eat them all first.
