Most people think of sweet potatoes as a holiday side dish, but they are actually a great year-round food. Sweet potatoes are a good source of fiber, vitamins A and C, and potassium. They can be baked, mashed, air fried, or roasted like any other potato.

How to Air Fry Sweet Potato Fries

Wedge sweet potatoes are a fun and easy way to change up your usual sweet potato dish. To make wedges, start by cutting the sweet potatoes into even slices. Then, carefully (and I mean carefully) cut each slice into thin wedges (thinner = crispier). You can leave the skin on or peel it off, depending on your preference.

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray.

Toss the sweet potato fries with a little olive oil, sea salt, and spices. Then, spread them out in a single layer in your air fryer basket.

Air fry for 10 minutes before flipping them over, and cooking until golden brown and crispy. Cook additional fry batch(es). Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

How to Prevent Soggy Fries

Sweet potatoes do not have as much starch in them as compared to traditional white potatoes. They do not need to be soaked before air frying. The best tip to prevent fries from steaming is to air fryer them in a single layer with minimal overlapping of fries. Tossing the seasoned fries with cornstarch also helps to achieve a better crisp.

Leftovers

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, just place them either inside your air fryer or oven and cook at 375°F for 2-3 minutes.

What to Serve with Sweet Potato Fries

There are a few things that go great with sweet potato fries. One is ketchup, another is mayonnaise, and another is honey mustard. You can also dip them in barbeque sauce, ranch dressing, or any other type of sauce that you like.
