Air Fryer Teriyaki Tofu served with stir fried vegetables and rice noodles is a delicious and easy meal to make. The crispy tofu combined with the vegetables and delicate rice noodles is the perfect combination.

Why do I need to press tofu?

Pressing tofu helps the tofu absorb more of the marinade you soak it in plus it will help it get crispy when cooking. It is not a necessary step but definitely one that will make a difference in this recipe and most tofu recipes.

This is a simple step that will greatly improve your recipe. To learn how to press tofu without a tofu press I recommend reading this article. She gives tips on how to do it with simple items you already have in your home kitchen.

How to Make Air Fryer Teriyaki Tofu with Stir Fried Vegetables and Rice Noodles

This recipe does have quite a few steps and is a little time consuming but I promise it is worth it! If you have time earlier in the day you can get ahead and prep the tofu to save you some time in the evening.

  1. Press tofu to remove as much water as possible before beginning the recipe. See the article above for tips on how to press tofu. This is critical in making sure that the tofu is crispy. This may take 20-30 minutes.
  2. Once liquid is removed slice tofu in half lengthwise then slice into small cubes about 1 inch by 1 inch.
  3. Place sliced tofu cubes into a mixing bowl with teriyaki sauce and stir to coat. Let marinate for 20 minutes.
  4. While tofu is marinating, chop the red bell pepper, broccoli and carrots.
  5. Heat a saute pan over medium heat and add sesame and vegetable oil.
  6. Add peppers, carrots, broccoli and onions to hot pan and saute for 15-20 minutes until tender and beginning to brown. Season with salt and pepper to taste if desired.
  7. While vegetables are cooking, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees for 10 minutes. When preheated, spray with non stick spray and add tofu to air fryer. Do not add the extra sauce in the bowl because it will just burn in the bottom of your air fryer basket.
  8. Cook tofu for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Shake the air fryer every 5-8 minutes to get crispy on all sides.
  9. While tofu and vegetables cook, start the rice noodles and cook according to the package.
  10. When rice noodles are done, if desired, top with a splash of oil to keep them from sticking together.
  11. Once everything is finished place rice noodles in the bottom of a bowl and top with vegetables and tofu. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  12. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
