How To Steep Herbal Tea

1 cup
15 min

I love tea, and herbal tea is great any time of day because it has no caffeine in it. I'm going to share how to steep herbal tea and a few tips along the way. You can see more of my crazy creations here You can use any herbal tea, and I'll be using loose tea. Loose tea is a great way to eliminate chemicals in what you're drinking. Read more to find out why.

When I choose my tea, I look for organic loose tea. This means the tea isn't sprayed with pesticides. I also don't like to use tea bags as they are often filled with chemicals as well.

There are several instruments you can scoop your tea into, and I'm using this little glass tea kettle with built-in strainer. I fill the strainer halfway for a single cup. This gives some room for the tea to expand.

I pour boiling water into my little tea pot. I can place this tea pot on the stove too to help keep it warm.

Herbal can be steeped as long as you like, whereas black and green tea it is recommended no longer than 5 minutes or it'll have a bitter flavor.

The longer it steeps the stronger the flavor. I tend to leave my tea leaves in the water for the entire pot.
