How To Steep Loose Tea

1 cup
15 min

I love loose tea, and in this post, I'll be sharing why I love loose tea as well as how to steep it easily. You can see more of my crazy creations here Loose tea is a great way to eliminate chemicals in what you're drinking. Read more to find out why.

When I choose my tea, I look for organic loose tea. This means the tea isn't sprayed with pesticides. I also don't like to use tea bags as they are often filled with chemicals as well.

There are several instruments you can scoop your tea into, and I'm using this stainless handle tea ball. I pinch the handle, scoop up the tea, and then release the handle to close it. I fill the ball halfway for a single cup. This gives some room for the tea to expand.

I place the ball in the mug, and then I fill the mug with boiling water.

You'll want to follow your tea's instructions for steeping times. For example, herbal can be steeped as long as you like, where as black and green tea it is recommended no longer than 5 minutes or it'll have a bitter flavor.

When the time is up, remove the tea and enjoy your cup.
