Learn how to make elderberry tea recipe and learn the benefits of elderberries. This is an easy recipe with just three ingredients.

Elderberries are said to support your immune system. They are high in antioxidants and vitamins, including vitamin C.

Not everyone likes the taste of elderberry tea. You can brew it with chamomile tea, peppermint tea, or green to to mellow the flavor. I also add raw honey to it to sweeten it.

This is a base recipe, but you can add turmeric, echinacea, ginger, or cloves for their benefits and to change the taste. Be sure to click over to the blog post for variations. After you make this, pour it through a small strainer to strain out the berries.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons elderberries
  • 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions

Combine the water, dried elderberries, and cinnamon stick in a small pan. Heat over medium high until boiling. Turn down the heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
Pour the tea through a strainer. Add honey if desired.
Tips
  • If you want iced elderberry tea, pour it over ice.
  • You can reuse the elderberries to make a second cup, but it won't be as strong.
