This is for the whiskey or bourbon lover in your life! I love trying new bourbon recipes. Did you know that oranges are packed with a ton of antioxidants?! Why not get your dose in an evening beverage! Ready?! Let’s do this!

The fresh fruit of the orange really enhances this drink! Even though I used an Orange liqueur, nothing beats the freshness of real fruit, freshly cut! By muddling the orange you get the added aroma and flavor of the orange peel. This is just like adding the orange zest, but without getting tiny pieces in your drink that you would eventually swallow. Orange zest can be sometimes bitter so we don’t want to do that.

If you don’t have a muddler you could use a large spoon to press down into the orange releasing the juices and oils from the peel.

This is one refreshing drink! The warm bourbon, refreshing citrus and fizzy bubbles

Cut the fresh orange in half, then that half in 4 slices. Put one slice into a short glass and use a muddler to muddle the orange in the glass. You do this by pressing down on the orange slice in the glass a few times. Fill the glass with ice. Add 1-1/2 oz. Bourbon, 1/2 oz. Orange liqueur, 1-1/2 oz. ginger ale, 1/2 oz. Club soda. Stir and enjoy! Repeat to make more servings either for yourself or others!
