Looking for a quick and easy snack that satisfies your sweet tooth while still being somewhat healthy? Look no further than these caramel apple bites! These bites are easy to make and delicious for an after-school snack or a party treat.

Apple cut through with apple slicer. Copy reads, "Healthy(ish) Snack: Quick + East Caramel Apple Bites."

The best part? You don’t need to trek to an apple orchard or spend hours dipping apples in caramel. All you need is an apple, some Marzetti caramel dip, chunky peanut butter, and mini M&Ms. I recommend using Marzetti caramel dip because it’s just like the caramel apple coating from our childhood, but feel free to use whatever you have on hand.

Apple cut through with apple slicer.

Here’s how to make these tasty treats:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Apple (I love Honeycrisp, Cortland, or Pink Lady)
  • 1 single serve container of Marzetti caramel dip (or whatever you can get your hands on)
  • 1 tbsp chunky peanut butter (I like Skippy)
  • A sprinkling of mini M&Ms
Hand holding a small white dish full of chunky peanut butter. Apple slices covered in caramel sauce on a plate in the background.

Directions:

  1. Cut apple into wedges.
  2. Microwave your cup of caramel dip in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until it becomes smooth and pourable.
  3. Microwave 1 tablespoon of chunky peanut butter for 30 seconds or until it becomes drippy.
  4. Sprinkle as many M&Ms as you would like over the top.
  5. Munch immediately and enjoy!

These caramel apple bites are versatile, so feel free to add your own spin to them. For example, my youngest daughter loves to dip her covered apple slices in fluff. You could also try adding freeze-dried marshmallows or chopped toasted nuts for a more sophisticated version.

If you’re serving these at a party and are worried about nut allergies, you can easily leave the peanut butter out. These caramel apple bites are perfect for any occasion and will satisfy any sweet craving you may have. So make a batch today, and indulge in this sweet and healthy treat!

Tips
  • My youngest daughter loves to dip her covered apple slices in fluff. I personally find it too sweet, but often kids have a higher threshold for sweetness 💖
  • If you want to serve this at a kids' party and you’re worried about nut allergies, you can easily leave the peanut butter out.
  • A sprinkle of freeze-dried tiny marshmallows is also a fun option!
  • Sprinkle with chopped toasted nuts for a more sophisticated version.
