If you are looking for something fun to make for a summer kids birthday party. I have the perfect dessert treat you can make. My grandson was turning 4 and my daughter was planning a kids pool party with pool floats, pool games and for dessert these nutter butter flip flop cookies.

What is Nutter Butter

Nutter Butter is an American sandwich cookie brand, it was first introduced in 1969 and currently owned by Nabisco. It’s made with real peanut butter and have a crunchy texture and a smooth creamy filling between to crispy cookies for a tasty snack.

Ingredients to make Nutter Butter Flip flop cookies


  • Icing: Betty Crocker cookie icing in white for the flip flop bands.


  • Mini M & Ms: The mini candies are perfect size for the connector where the bands for flip flop meet.

How To Make Nutter Butter Flip Flop Cookies

  1. Lay out the nutter butter in a large plate. Do five nutter butter cookies at a time. This will give you elbow room when doing the icing part for the flip flip bands.

2. For the V for the flip flop bands start from the left middle side of the cookie to the center back to the right middle side.

Icing tip for Betty Crocker cookie icing :


  • Remove the cap.


  • Knead pouch for 2 minutes.


  • Snip the tip just above the second ring.


  • Squeeze icing on the cookie in desired spot.


Icing will flow to the desired spot. The icing begins to set after 4 minutes. It does not need to refrigerate. I would wait about 4 hours before stacking cookies.

3. Add the mini M & M’s on top pf the center of the icing band.

They turned out perfect and was so stress free. This is my kind of dessert easy and fast for my busy schedule.

What Is The Best Icing To Use for Nutter Butter Flip FLop Cookies.

Since I needed to make theses fast I store bought Betty Crocker cookie icing. This cookie icing is a easy way to decorate cookies. Simply squeeze the ready to use pouch over the cookies to create your flip flip bans. The icing sets up fast so you can stack them. You can make your own but I loved this because the icing sets quickly and I didn’t trust myself to make icing that would set up fast.
