Ingredients:

  • 6 oz Oreo Pie Crust
  • 3.9 oz package Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 litre Cool Whip Topping
  • 12 Oreo cookies, crushed

Note: this can be made directly in the oreo pie crust pan!

Directions:

1. Prepare the ingredients. Unwrap the Oreo cookie crust and set the whipped topping out on the counter to defrost.

Note: I transferred our crust to a pie pan but that’s not necessary. You could also make a homemade oreo pie base like this one.

2. In a large bowl prepare the instant pudding mix. Use a hand mixer to whisk together with two cups of cold milk and place in the fridge to set for at least 5 minutes.

3. When the pudding sets, fold in half of the whipped topping into the chocolate pudding.

4. Spread the pudding mixture over the pie crust.

5. Cover the pudding layer in the remaining cool whip.

6. Spread the whipped topping over the top of the pie.

7. Place the cookies into a large freezer bag and crush them up using a rolling pin or the end of a wooden spoon. You could also use a food processor to create oreo crumbs.

8. Sprinkle the oreo cookie crumbs over top of the pie.

Place the pie into the fridge to set up and rest until ready to serve.

Oreo Mud Pie Tips:

  • Keep the pie cool and allow the pudding and whipped topping to fully set.
  • Add crushed Oreos to each layer if desired!
  • Cover in plastic wrap and store this yummy dessert in the fridge.

There are a ton of ways that this delicious dessert could be changed up and personalized.

Oreo Pie Variations:

  • Use instant vanilla pudding mix instead of chocolate.
  • Try swapping out the regular Oreos for any of the other fun flavours.
  • Mint Oreos or Golden Oreos would be yummy too!
  • Use graham cracker pie crust instead of oreo crust.
  • Add gummy worms or other candies to the top layer.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate or chocolate sauce over the pie!
  • Place the filling into individual cups or layer in a trifle dish.
  • Use homemade whipped cream.
  • Add creamy peanut butter to the pudding layer.

This Oreo Dirt Dessert is our favorite treat to bring to special occasions like a summer bar-b-cue or picnic. It’s just so easy to make and always delicious!
