Read on for how to make the best homemade peanut butter pie!

Ingredients for Homemade Peanut Butter Pie

I love this pie because it really doesn’t take a lot of effort or ingredients to pull together! I think it would be a great treat to whip up during the warmer summer months if you aren’t into the fruity desserts that come around this time of year. Plus – peanut butter and chocolate are always a crowd pleaser!

Here’s what you’re going to need:

  • Chocolate graham crackers
  • Granulated sugar
  • Unsalted butter
  • Cream cheese – make sure to use full-fat brick cream cheese!
  • Powdered sugar
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Vanilla extract
  • Reese’s mini peanut butter cups

For this peanut butter pie, be sure to use creamy conventional peanut butter (like Jif or Skippy), not natural peanut butter. Natural peanut butter does not include stabilizers such as added oil, so your pie will become oily and separated if you use any kind of “natural” peanut butter.

How to Make Reese’s Cup Peanut Butter Pie

The best part about this easy peanut butter pie is that it comes together super quickly and can even be made ahead of time if you’re going to be taking it to an event! This pie can be frozen for up to 1 month and will thaw nicely in the refrigerator. Or, you can even serve it frozen if you like it that way!

Here’s what you’re going to want to do:

Make the crust! First, you’ll want to grind up the chocolate graham crackers and granulated sugar in the food processor until they are nice and crumbly. Pulse in the melted butter, and then press the crust mixture into a 9-inch pie plate and bake for 12 minutes. Be sure to cool completely before filling!

Make the filling! First, beat the peanut butter, cream cheese, 3/4 cup of the powdered sugar with a handheld mixer until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, you’ll want to whip your heavy cream until it’s light and fluffy as well. Then, mix in the remaining 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the whipped cream and beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture and pour into the cooled pie shell.

Chill! Let the pie chill in the refrigerator for 6 hours or freeze for 3 hours. Top with additional whipped cream, chopped peanut butter cups, or even drizzle some melted peanut butter or chocolate on the top for good measure!

See? Simple! I hope that you enjoy this easy homemade peanut butter pie. It’s great year-round but will be so yummy for the upcoming summer months!

I wonder how this would be using Reese's Peanut Butter Spread? it is just a tad more liquid than peanut butter is.
