We love to create themed sweet treats around here, especially for the holidays. These darling decorated tree brownies are the best because they start with a simple box mix. of course you can make them from scratch if that is your jam.

Ingredients

  • Baked Sheet of Brownies
  • Baked Brownies
  • Frosting – White and Yellow (can use white store bought frosting in a tub, mixed with yellow food coloring)
  • Green Sprinkles
  • Red Hot Candies

Kitchen Supplies and Tools for Christmas Tree Brownies

  • Piping Bag (could also use Food Storage Bag with Cut Corner)
  • Star Icing Tip
  • Knife
  • Parchment Paper

My favorite Parchment Paper – This is the BEST way to line baking pans and dishes. It is great for pouring melted candy too.

Directions

Following these directions is easy peasy which makes this a great recipe to do with your kids. These could be made in a classroom setting at a holiday party or with a scout troop too. I love the way they look when added to a tray of boring (but yummy) cookies because they add that pop of color.

Step One

Bake brownies according to box mix using parchment paper. The parchment paper makes the brownies easy to remove and cut. If you bake them in a larger, shallow pan, reduce the cooking time by a few minutes so they don’t overbake. This allows for more trees to be made!

Step Two

Once brownies are completely cool, cut into triangles for tree and cut small rectangles for tree trunks. The Christmas Tree Brownies can be any size just keep in mind they will each probably be eaten as a serving.

Step Three

Frost triangle brownies with white frosting.

Step Four

Pour green sprinkles onto a flat dish. Turn brownies over and press white icing into sprinkles to cover the surface.

Step Five

Use star tip with yellow frosting to pipe a star on the top of each tree and to cement the tree trunk to the tree.

Step Six

Add red hot candies for decorations on the frosted and sprinkled brownie. Other candies could be used for this too.

They are completely decadent and delicious. With the vanilla frosting and the chocolate fudge brownies mixed together, every bite is perfection. The cinnamon candies make it even better!

These decorated Christmas Tree Brownies are perfect to eat while decorating the tree. They are also a great addition to a cookie exchange party. Kids love to make them too so definitely get your littles involved in the holiday baking season.
