Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 1 package (about 10 oz.) of strawberry marshmallows
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp strawberry flavor
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Once it is melted, add all of the strawberry marshmallows into the pan- stirring until melted completely.
Once the marshmallows are melted, add in vanilla extract and the strawberry flavor. Then, mix until completely incorporated. Remove from the heat.
Add the Rice Krispie cereal to the pan and stir until the cereal is coated with the marshmallow mixture.
Using a spoon or spatula, transfer and evenly press in the mixture into a square, 9-inch pan greased with melted butter. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until completely cool.
While waiting for the treats to cool, place the chocolate chips into a small, microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments. Stir between each increment until the chocolate chips are melted and free of lumps.
Once the rice krispie treats are cool, cut them into squares. Dip them into the melted chocolate and allow to cool completely before enjoying.
Tips
  • Use low heat while you are heating up your marshmallows to avoid hard treats.
  • These Rice Krispie treats can be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
