Fruit Filled Hand Pies for Valentine's Day

These adorable little heart pies make the cutest and yummiest treat for Valentine's Day!
I saw a recipe for these cute little fruit pies which you can hold in your hand and I really just had to try them. I'm someone (call me crazy!) who would rather have pie than cake so these were really on my radar. I assume you could make them in a variety of shapes, but since Valentine's Day is approaching, I thought a heart would be perfect!
Fruit Filled Hand Pies for Valentine's Day
I used a premade pie crust. I rolled it out and used a heart cookie cutter to cut out the tops and bottoms of my little pies. If you have scraps left over, you can put them together and roll them out again to make more hearts.
After cutting out your crusts, line your cookie sheet with parchment paper and spread out your hearts. Add a small heaping teaspoon of your choice of pie filling to the middle. Once you crimp your crusts together, you. will have some come out the edges, but that's ok.
The next step is to attach the tops to the bottom and using a fork, crimp the two together to form your pie. You can see more details of how I did this in the video below. Any excess can be wiped off. Cut two slits in the top of each one to allow to vent while cooking. Finally brush with egg wash and add some sparkling sugar on the top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
I mean these are just too cute! And so yummy as well!
