Easy to Make Blueberry Iced Tea Recipe

Homemade blueberry iced tea is great for a summertime gathering. I made this recipe for a smaller crowd. It serves about 8 people in 6 oz glasses and can be made a day in advance.

Here are the ingredients I used. I bought premade unsweetened iced tea, but you can make your own if you want.

Add the frozen blueberries, lemon juice, and sugar together in a medium saucepan.

Stir well. Bring to a boil. Then lower heat to medium and cook for 8 minutes. Keep an eye on it, so it doesn't burn and stir occasionally.

Turn off the burner. Get a bowl and a strainer on it. Then add the blueberry mixture to the strainer. With a wooden or silicone spatula, press the blueberries down to strain out the liquid and juices from the blueberries. Add to the unsweetened Iced Tea and mix well. Pour in a pitcher and cool in the refridgerator.

At this point, you will have a thin liquid syrup. Discard the blueberries, or let cool and top a plain cheesecake. Yum.

Add a wedge of sliced lemon and serve in a glass.

Here is a close-up of the blueberry iced tea. What do you think?

Ingredients

  • 8 cups of blueberries (frozen)
  • ½ cup of lemon juice
  • 1 56 oz bottle of Unsweetened Ice tea
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 lemons (sliced)
Instructions

Add the frozen blueberries, lemon juice, and sugar together in a medium saucepan. Stir well. Bring to a boil. Then lower the heat to medium and cook for 8 minutes.
At this point, you will have a thin liquid syrup.
Add the prepared iced tea to the blueberry liquid bowl and stir.
Then, transfer to a pitcher. Allow enough room for some ice in the pitcher you pick. Add a little ice and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
When you are ready to serve, slice up the lemons into ¼ inch slices. Add some ice to the cup. Add the lemon to the rim. Add 6 oz. of blueberry iced tea and enjoy.
That's it. It lasts about 3-4 days.

That is correct, Janis. I forgot the word "Juice" in step 1. I revised it. Thanks for catching that. The 2 whole lemons are for slicing.
