Homemade Big Mac Sauce
This Homemade Big Mac Sauce is the perfect sauce to satisfy a Big Mac craving or really to top any homemade burger or cheeseburger salad!
I love making this Homemade Big Mac Sauce for my family with just 3 simple ingredients! It adds extra flair to any homemade burger whether you are a Big Mac fan or not! It's tangy, salty, creamy, and slightly sweet adding a magical burst of flavor and elevates a simple burger.
You will love this Big Mac Sauce because:
- It's made with 3 simple ingredients and healthier than storebought sauces.
- It is a multi-purpose condiment, not only can it be used to top burgers, but it can also be a fry dip or salad dressing!
- This sauce would also be a great hostess gift for a backyard BBQ party with a pretty bottle and label!
- Mayonnaise: I like to use good quality mayonnaise with clean and minimal ingredients preferably with an olive oil base.
- Pickles and Pickle Juice: I love these pickles for their outstanding flavor and the added health benefits of fermented pickles. Use your favorite pickles if you can't find these.
- Ketchup: I like to use organic ketchup that has less sugar and sodium. It gives the option to season to taste.
- Add all ingredients to a medium bowl.
- Whisk ingredients to combine.
McDonald's lists the ingredients for Big Mac sauce on their website it includes ingredients like: Soybean Oil, Sweet Relish, Corn Syrup, Vinegar, Salt, Xanthan Gum, Water, Egg Yolks, Spices, Onion Powder, Salt, Garlic Powder, Caramel Color, Turmeric, Extractives Of Paprika, Soy Lecithin and more...
Given the ingredients listed for the original version of the sauce above, I would not consider Big Mac Sauce good for you. My healthier copycat mac sauce version gives you the freedom to control the salt, sugar, and quality of the ingredients making it a healthy Big Mac Sauce that can be eaten more often guilt-free.
How long is homemade Big Mac sauce good for?Stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container this sauce will keep for approximately 10 days.
- This sauce is so easy to throw together, you can customize the taste to your preference. Some versions of copycat Big Mac Sauce include mustard and no ketchup. Some include onion or onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and vinegar. My goal was to balance sweet, tangy, salty, and creamy flavors in a healthier sauce that takes seconds to make to throw on a burger. Feel free to use this recipe as a base and create your own flavor profile.
- Although in my recipe there are only 3 ingredients I go for the best quality for the best flavor as specified in the ingredient notes, trust that it makes a difference.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 10 days.
You will love this Homemade Big Mac Sauce on my Big Mac Salad a delicious satisfying lunch that banishes fast food cravings with no guilt!
