A Blueberry Smash Spritz is the refreshing cocktail recipe you need on a hot summer’s day.
Blueberries are muddled with mint, lemon, tequila and soda on top.
We all need refreshing cocktails in the summertime, and this one is the perfect ‘porch sipping drink.’ It’s super simple but filled with flavor.
While tequila isn’t health food, it’s definitely not a bad liquor to drink.
We’ve all been there in college with a Jose Cuervo gold, that smells like a terrible thing is about to happen, and your evening ends terribly, and the next morning is even worse…
When you use 100% agave tequila, you won’t end up with a hangover. Winning!
100% Agave tequila is low-sugar and low carb — making this a win-win if you’re eating on the low carb/keto lifestyle.
It’s deliciously citrusy and has a very smooth finish. You don’t get that pucker in the back of your jaw like with cheap tequila.
Yes, this is Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson’s tequila, y’all! I love that the heart behind this company is bringing people together.
Sweetpea + Teremana = match made in gathering people around the table heaven!
I love using Ball jars as a cocktail shaker! Screw the top on, give it a good 30 second shake, and either drink from the jar or pour into a glass!
Blueberry Smash Spritz
Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Blueberries, plus a few more for garnish
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 4 Mint Leaves
- 1 lemon, cut into slices
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- 1 ounce Tequila Blanco
- Ice
Instructions
- In a jar with a screw-top lid, plop in a quarter cup of berries, and a teaspoon of sugar.
- Smash this around, and get the blueberries broken into the sugar.
- Drop-in a few mint leaves, and muddle around.
- Add a lemon slice, and muddle around. Pro Tip: Remove your seeds before adding the lemon slice to the glass. The seeds are bitter, and by removing them, you keep your drink on the sweeter side.
- Pour in an ounce of Cointreau — this sweet orange liqueur pairs perfectly.
- Pop the top on some *good* tequila, like Teremana — and add an ounce to your jar.
- Add some ice to the glass, and get the lid and turn it on tight!
- Give your Blueberry Smash Spritz a very, very, very good shake — like a full 30 seconds. Count to 30 if you have to, and then count to 20…
- Strain into a glass with fresh ice, and garnish with a slice of lemon and a few whole blueberries.

What a "berry" delicious and lovely recipe. Thank you for sharing it!
Looks soooo good! However, the intro says “Blueberries are muddled with mint, lemon, tequila and SODA on top “. But I don’t see any amount of soda in the ingredient list nor on the instructions for making it. No biggy but without, is it really a “spritz”?
