Radishes are incredibly easy to grow in the home garden, and they are for more than just salads! If your only experience with radishes is running away in fear of their spicy bite, then have I got news for you! Radishes that are roasted in the oven are both delicious and incredibly mild in flavor. They’re also a great substitute for roasted potatoes!

This easy oven roasted radish recipe is super easy to throw together for any weeknight meal, and the health benefits of radishes are numerous.

Why Roast Radishes?

First, rashes are incredibly easy to grow in the home garden, and they make an excellent substitute for potatoes in a variety of ways. They have fewer carbs than potatoes; in fact, they only have 4 g of carbs for every one cup of radishes.

I decided to roast radishes because we had an abundance in our garden this fall, and the beautiful colors were just begging to be roasted in the oven. I love roasting lots of vegetables because it’s a very forgivable method of cooking.

Begin with fresh radishes. These can be store bought or home grown.

Clean radishes well and cut in half if they are larger.

Place radishes on a sheet pan and drizzle with oil and seasonings. Slide into 400 degree oven and roast for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.

Serve immediately.

  • 2-3 Tablespoons Olive or Avocado Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Place clean radishes on a sheet pan. If you're using a larger variety of radish you can cut them in half.
Drizzle oil over radishes using a spatula to make sure they're coated. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste and add the garlic powder.
