Let’s talk about air fryers for a moment. These nifty kitchen gadgets are like little miracle workers. They use hot air circulation to cook your food to perfection, all while requiring little to no oil. That’s right – healthier and faster cooking without sacrificing flavor. What’s not to love?
I love this particular one because I was able to eliminate several small kitchen appliance for this fancy 7 in 1 Instant Pot Duo. I will say it takes a bit of storage space, but remember you will be able to eliminate a few others.
It’s not just for Zucchini! So, how do we make these irresistible air fryer chips? It’s all about choosing the right ingredients and getting creative with flavors. And believe me, the possibilities are endless!
Now, when it comes to selecting your chip base, you can go for classic potatoes, sweet potatoes, or even zucchinis. Yep, you heard that right – veggies can make incredible chips too! They offer a fantastic crunch and open up a whole world of flavors to explore. For this recipe the star is Zucchini, which is perfect for this time of year.
Once you’ve chosen your chip hero, it’s time to get adventurous with seasoning. I’m talking about anything from simple smoky paprika, zesty lemon pepper, or even a kick of cayenne. The key is to experiment and find the combinations that make your taste buds dance with joy! For this recipe I used my favorite go to McCormicks Salt Free Garlic Herb seasoning.
Mix your seasoning of choice with plain Panko Bread Crumbs, (I like Vigo it is lower in Sodium) and the parmesan.
When you’ve got your ingredients ready, it’s time to preheat that air fryer. Patience might not be our strong suit when there are crispy chips at stake, but trust me – it’s worth the wait!
Now, here’s a little secret to get that perfect crispiness – make sure you lay your chip slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Overcrowding them will lead to uneven cooking, and we don’t want that. We want each chip to be a glorious bite of pure delight!
Keep an eye on your chips as they cook; different air fryers have different temperaments, and we don’t want our culinary creations to burn.
There you have it, folks – the best Air Fryer Zucchini Chips that are not only low in sodium but also high in deliciousness. Serve ’em up as a guilt-free snack, a side dish, or even as a crunchy topping for salads – the possibilities are endless!
