Cinnamon Sugar Sticks With Kahlúa Dipping Sauce

I love cinnamon buns, but I wanted to make something different with a delicious (adult-only) dipping sauce.

Don’t get me wrong anyone can enjoy these amazing cinnamon sugar sticks with any flavor dipping sauce without alcohol, but this dipping sauce is so good and easy to make you are going to want to continue dipping and drizzling on top of these warm cinnamon sugar sticks.

The cinnamon sugar stick recipe is quite simple, only a few ingredients are needed. The delicious dipping sauce only has 4 ingredients, and it’s not too sweet.

This recipe is amazing when you have friends over and want to pair it with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Ingredients

1 cup of water

1 tsp. vanilla extract⅛ tsp. salt

2 tbsp. Butter

1 cup of flour1 large egg

2 cups oil for frying

Cinnamon-Sugar

1/2 cup of granulated sugar

2 tbsp of cinnamon

Kahlúa Dipping Sauce

1/3 cup of condensed milk

1/3 cup of evaporated milk

2 tsp of Kahlúa

1 tsp of vanilla

Instructions

Place water, vanilla extract, salt, and butter in a saucepan at medium-high heat.

Once it comes to a boil, stir in the flour all at once.

Mix the dough vigorously using a spatula. Remove the saucepan from the heat, wait about 5 minutes, then add the egg. Continue mixing until the egg is completely integrated into the dough.

The dough will separate after adding the egg, but keep mixing until the ingredients are well combined and you have a smooth and soft dough, it will become a ball. It will take a few minutes for you to see the result.

Place the dough in the pastry bag fitted with a round tip or none at all, in my case I didn’t need one it worked perfectly.

Pipe the strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them with your kitchen scissors. The oil will start bubbling when you add the sticks.

Fry the sticks for 4-5 minutes in hot oil until golden brown and then turn the sticks to have an even crispiness and golden color.

Once they are golden, remove them from the heat, place them on a paper towel to drain for a few seconds, and then roll in the cinnamon sugar.

Enjoy!

  • How fun. Reminds me of a churro recipe! And who doesn't love Kahlua? Toss some in the coffee or hot chocolate too. Obviously adults only and a fun treat for guests too. Serve the kids the cinnamon sticks maybe with a few colorful sprinkles to make them festive. Thanks for sharing!
