How to make Keto Italian Meatballs

Make Italian meatballs in just 3 easy steps!

Preheat. Preheat oven to 400.

Combine ingredients and bake. Mix all meatball ingredients together, and form them into small 1-inch balls.

Place the meatballs on a baking rack over a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Let cool and serve! Remove and allow to cool slightly before adding to another dish or enjoying them by themselves.

Pan Fried Meatballs or Oven Baked Meatballs?

The great debate! If you are a meatball aficionado, you are probably aware of the great debate between Italian chefs in regards to baking meatballs or pan-frying them.

Personally, I think both taste amazing!

Pan-frying meatballs produce caramelization and a flavor-packed outer crust. The shape, however, rarely stays perfectly round.

On the flip side of that, baked meatballs eliminate the need to stand in the kitchen and cook them, and although tasty, this method doesn’t promote the browning or give you a crispy crust.

How to Make Juicy Meatballs

Everyone wants a tender a juicy meatball and the best way to achieve that is to use fresh, never frozen meat, don’t overcook them, and if you find your meatballs aren’t juicy enough, you can add finely grated zucchini to add moisture to the mix.

Storing Leftover Keto Italian Meatballs

I promise, there won’t be any keto Italian meatballs left to store for leftovers.

However, if there are or if you are making a big batch, grab a shallow airtight container or wrap them tightly in aluminum foil and store them in the fridge.

The leftovers will last 3-4. If you need them to last longer, I would recommend storing them in the freezer and reheating them in an air fryer as needed.
