Tasty and flavorful meatballs with mediterranean flavors, just perfect to serve as appetizers, mini skewers over a hummus bowl or just by itself.

The other day I was mapping out the meals for the next few days with the meats and veggies I had in my fridge. I found a package of ground lamb meat in the freezer. What you typically make with ground lamb meat?

What about a delicious mediterranean bowl of lamb mini meatballs over creamy hummus. A hearty bowl packed with protein, healthy and fresh ingredients.

First, let's start prepping the mini lamb meatballs. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb meat, onions, feta, almond flour, chopped spinach and spices. Mix in all the ingredients together and form mini meatballs about 1 inch each. This recipe will yield about 24 meatballs. Then in a hot cast iron pan, drizzle some avocado oil, and brow each meatball them to perfection. About 4 minutes each side.

These meatballs are so crunchy in the outside, but the combination of the feta cheese, onions, spices and spinach add more layers of flavor to the lamb meat and keep them moist inside.

Once ready, set them aside for a few minutes over a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.

In a medium size bowl, spread about 1 cup of homemade hummus, arrange a few meatballs on top, then garnish with lemon olive oil, fresh chopped parsley and sumac.

This will go prefect with greek couscous salad.

It was easy to make and a dinner my family enjoyed so much. Even my youngest son, my picky eater, love them.

Lamb Greek Meatballs
  • 1 lb. ground lamb meat
  • 1/4 cup of sauteed red onions
  • 1 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/4 cup of almond flour
  • 1/4 cup of feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped spinach
  • 1/2 tsp of cinamon
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of pepper
  • 3 TBSP of Avocado oil
  • 1 TBSP of lemon oil
  • 1TBSP of chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp of sumac seasonings

Sautee about 1/4 cup of red onions in a pan with a small drizzle of avocado oil for about 5 minutes, just until the onions get soft.
Then, in a large bowl combine all the ingredients until you see they are evenly distributed: the ground lamb meat, the spinach, feta cheese, almond flour, spices and salt and pepper. fr
Then, form the mini meatballs. About 1 inch round. And place in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
Heat a cast iron pan, when hot drizzle about 1 TBSP of avocado oil and gently pan fry the mini lamb meatballs for about 4 minutes each side or until they are fully cooked.
Then set them aside on a platter lined with paper towel for about 2-3 minutes so that it soaks the excess oil.
  • This is how you DISHPLAY_IT: In a medium size serving bowl, spread out about 1 cup of creamy homemade hummus. (Find recipe on a previous post) Then, place about 6 meatballs or more on top, drizzle a little bit of lemon oil, sumac seasoning and chopped parsley.
