I brought up here a recipe for meatballs with peas, but this time I am uploading a recipe of meatballs with a very tasty and special red sauce, following the recipe of the rice I uploaded. I use frozen peas from the freezer, but of course you can cook with dried peas or even green beans. I have a tip about the recipe: if your kids don't like onions, but do like the taste, you can make the sauce, and the onion put whole in the pot and cut it in half without falling apart, that way the taste will stay, but the onion itself will not be visible in the recipe.

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • chopped parsley (optional)
Ingredients for the sauce:
  • 3-4 ripe red tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • Small tomato paste
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika

  • Half a bag of frozen peas
Instructions
HOW TO PREPARE THE PATTIES:
Mix all the tenderloins of the patties together, and divide into 20 meatballs, on a slightly greased pan, for five minutes in the oven (this step is not mandatory, but it retains the shape).
How to prepare:
Prepare the patties ahead of time so that they are ready to enter the sauce.
Heat a saucepan with oil, and add the onion, cut into medium cubes and fry until browned
Add the tomatoes, cut them into large cubes and add to the cooking pot for about 20 minutes.
The tomatoes take water out of themselves so there is no need to add.
After cooking, transfer the contents of the pot to the blender and crush everything together.
Put the crushed sauce back into the saucepan and add the spices : salt, sugar, black pepper and sugar.
After a few minutes, add the small tomato paste and stir and continue cooking, if necessary add water to the saucepan.
In the meantime, put the frozen peas in a bowl and sprinkle boiling water on it for a few minutes. Strain and let the water come out, then add the peas to the sauce (just like in the picture), to cook for 10 minutes.
Then boil the sauce, and put all the patties to cook for about an hour.
Enjoy your meal!!!
