Chicken Lasagna With Béchamel Sauce

A classic, easy recipe that is one of the most loved foods in any home. This ultimate comfort food and homemade lasagna is an incredible and easy recipe. Your family and friends will love this amazingly flavorful recipe, especially on special ocasión when you have so much going on and want to make something delicious and easy. A warm comforting lasagna with layers of pasta, chicken, homemade tomato sauce, white sauce, and melted cheese!


Ingredients for Béchamel Sauce


3 cups of whole milk

1/2 cup of flour

1/2 cup of mozzarella

1/4 cup of unsalted butter

1 tsp of salt

1/4 tsp of nutmeg

Ingredients for Lasagna


1/2 cup of more mozzarella

1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese

Shredded chicken or ground chicken


Instructions for Béchamel Sauce


In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, add the flour, and mix quickly with a whisk. Stir until the mixture is smooth and without lumps.


Cook for 1 min so the flour becomes tastier and absorbs the butter. Now mix in gradually the milk, nutmeg, salt, and cheese. Mix constantly, until you have a reasonably thick consistency (about 10/15 minutes). The sauce is ready when it sticks to the back of a wooden spoon. Set aside.


Meat Sauce


In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add olive oil add shredded chicken, and add the Marinara Sauce. Stir to combine the meat and marinara sauce.


Cover and allow the sauce to simmer for about 20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 cup of water if it gets too thick and reduce it to low heat.


Cook lasagna by following box instructions. Allow to rest and drain into a large colander.


Assembly


Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large glass pan or 9×13″ baking dish use 3-4 layers of lasagna.


Start by spreading some of the Béchamel sauce. Layer on top with 3 lasagna noodles or more to cover the bottom.


Spread meat sauce over the noodles, followed by the Bechamel Sauce (recipe above), then mozzarella and parmesan cheese, spreading to the edges.


Repeat this 2-3 times to use up all noodles, and sauces, and end with cheeses on top.


Bake for 25 minutes until the top is golden brown and the cheeses are bubbling. Allow the lasagna to rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Tips
  • You can buy fresh lasagna pasta sheets in the refrigeration section in the supermarkets.
  • Garnish with parsley and let it stand for 10-15 minutes before serving
