Here's another way of enjoying cold coffee that doesnt involve any ice– it comes in the form of jelly! Not only is the colour contrast of coffee to condensed milk absolutely gorgeous, this recipe is incredibly easy to make.

This dessert is somewhat reminiscent of typical Vietnamese coffee (coffee that's poured through a press straight into a pool of condensed milk!), so it is by no means an unusual pairing.

Perfect as a post-lunch dessert or tea time caffeine alternative to your usual, this simple recipe can easily be whipped out of the fridge and served pretty much in an instant!

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp water, at room temperature
  • 1¼ tbsp gelatine powder
  • 2 cups hot black coffee
  • ½ cup or 100 grams brown sugar
  • ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk
Instructions

In a small bowl, add the water and gelatine and mix well. Leave for about 3 minutes to allow the gelatine to bloom or absorb the water completely.
In a medium bowl, glass container, or silicon tray, add the hot coffee, sugar, and gelatine. Mix well until dissolved. Chill for 2– 3 hours, or until the jelly has completely set.
To serve, cut the jelly into cubes and place in a glass or bowl and drizzle with the condensed milk. Serve immediately.

Is that 1 1/4 Tablespoons of gelatin (tsbp?) I think it must be as I used teaspoon and it didn't set enough to cut, barely enough to spoon out!
