Easy Slow Cooker Turkey Chili
It was so chilly here last weekend, you know one of those days that you just can’t get warm even after you’ve been in your warm house for a while. I figured it was a perfect day to make a nice big pot of turkey chili! It’s such an easy slow cooker recipe to throw together too.
Making Turkey Chili
It starts with cooking up 2 lbs. of ground turkey in a large pan with a little olive oil.
Once the turkey was cooked through I added the diced onion and minced garlic and continued to cook until the onion was softened and translucent.
Then I added the ground turkey to my slow cooker.
Now it’s time to just dump the rest of the ingredients into the slow cooker…don’t you love easy recipes!!
I added 2 (28 ounce) cans of crushed tomatoes, 1 (28 ounce) can of diced tomatoes, 1 cup of chicken broth, 2 (15 ounce) cans of kidney beans, and 2 (4 ounce) cans of chopped green chilis.
Give it a good stir!
Then time to add the spices to the pot of chili
Looks good already! A mix of chili powder, cumin, oregano, cocoa powder, brown sugar, salt & pepper. Yum!!
Cook on low for 6 hours.
