Are you craving a treat? These cookies are perfect for a quick and easy breakfast, an afternoon snack, or dessert. The cookies are not too sweet, and do not require much prep. The ingredients are rather basic, which will save you a ton of time scouring through grocery store aisles looking for ingredients, and will also help you use what is likely already in your pantry! Sounds like a big win to me! This recipe has been a hit with all my friends and family. I am so excited for you to bring these cookies into your home as well. Happy baking!
Whole Wheat Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 cup of old-fashioned oats
- 0.5 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix the flour, oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in one bowl until combined thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, blend together the olive oil, egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Make sure that all the ingredients have combined well.
- Combine your wet and your dry ingredients together in one bowl.
- Add the chocolate chips into the mixture.
- In a baking sheet, line it with parchment paper.
- Take one tablespoon of your mixture and make it into a ball. Place the ball on the parchment paper and press it down to flatten it a little bit, making it so the thickness of the cookie is around 1.5-2cm. Place all the cookies on your sheet at least 1 inch apart.
- Once all the cookies are on the sheet, put it in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until it looks like the cookies are fully baked. The sign to look for is the light browning of the bottom of the cookie.
