This is a perfect recipe for weaning or those who have small children! They are a healthier, baby-friendly version of chocolate chip cookies. They are also vegan, and if you use gluten-free oats (pure oats should be gluten free but do check if you have an allergy) they are suitable for most diets.
I would say that if you are an adult with a sweet-tooth, they might not be sweet enough for you as they are sugar-free. Young children love them anyhow as the sweetness of the banana hits just the right spot with them!
Baby-Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookies
Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 big ripe banana
- ½ tbsp nut butter
- 3/4 cup rolled oats/oatmeal
- 1/4 cup sugar-free dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Smash the banana with a fork and mix it in with all other ingredients. Depending on the size of your banana you may need to adjust the quantity of oats, so the mixture isn’t too wet or too dry.
- Place a couple of spoonfulls of of mixture onto a baking sheet and use the back of the spoon to flatten them down so they make a small circular, cookie shape.
- Bake for 12 minutes at 350F. They might seem very soft when you take them out of the oven, but they will firm up a bit. They will still be soft, but should hold together when eating them.
- Let them cool before serving.
