Ingredients to Make Peppermint Christmas Chex Mix

For this sweet and salty treat you’ll need Chex cereal.

We used Corn Chex, but you can also use Rice Chex or Wheat Chex cereal.

Then you’ll also need Golden Grahams cereal, and sourdough pretzel nibblers.

And for the sweets you’ll need white baking chips, M&M Christmas candy, peppermint candies and red candy sprinkles.

If you want to bag this treat up for your neighbors, friends or coworkers you’ll also need cellophane bags and a fun Christmas ribbon.

Other Delectable Christmas Recipes

While we are not food bloggers, every once in a while we love to share some of our family favorite recipes with you.

And let me tell you these are all so yummy!

On Christmas morning we love to serve Berry French Toast Casserole.

Not only is it tasty, but you can make it ahead and pop it in the oven on Christmas morning for an easy and scrumptious breakfast.

And it just wouldn’t be Christmas without my grandma’s Nugget cookies.

It’s been a family favorite for more than 60 years.

And if you love eggnog you need to try this eggless low-calorie recipe.

It’s thick, creamy, and so delicious.

How to Make a Delicious Peppermint Christmas Chex Mix

Step 1- Combine Cereal and Pretzels

In a large bowl combine Chex cereal, Golden Grahams cereal and pretzels.

Step 2- Melt White Baking Chips

Next you’ll want to melt the white baking chips.

I believe the easiest way to do this is to pour the bag of baking chips in a microwave safe bowl and cook for 30 seconds on high.

Then remove bowl from microwave and stir the baking chips with a wooded spoon.

Repeat this process, cooking for 30 seconds and stir until the baking chips are melted.

If you’d rather melt them on the stove top, fill a pan with a couple of inches of water and bring to a simmer.

Then pour the bag of baking chips in a bowl that will sit over the pan, but not touching the water.

Stir baking chips with a wooden spoon until melted.

Step 3- Add Melted Chips to the Cereal Mixture

Now it’s time to pour the melted baking chips over the cereal mixture.

We discovered it worked better to add the M&Ms and the peppermint candy after the melted baking chips are combined with the cereal mixture.

So, wait to add the M&Ms and peppermint candy.

Step 4- Cool Mixture Add Candy

Pour the coated cereal mixture onto a large sheet pan.

Then sprinkle the cereal mixture with the crushed peppermint and holiday M&Ms.

And finally sprinkle with red candy sprinkles.

Cool the Peppermint Christmas Chex Mix completely.

Step 5- Package the Gift for Neighbors

Once the Peppermint Christmas Chex Mix is cooled place in cellophane bags.

Tie with a cute Christmas ribbon and add a gift tag.
