Easy Galaxy Chocolate Fudge

Sometimes I forget that there are easy fudge recipes out there.

No need to dig out the candy thermometer or special equipment for this fudge recipe.

We’re keeping it simple how we like here!

This fudge does set quickly, but it’s okay to have a skin of slightly hardened fudge in your bowls when you add the color.

Just mix in the color and it will be fine. If the bowl of chocolate does harden a bit too much, microwave it to soften it.

I suggest 10 seconds at 50% power, stir and check it and repeat if necessary.

Be careful not to burn the chocolate.

The best thing to do is to have everything ready for a smooth process.

Get the bowls, knives, and spoons all out and ready to grab.

Open all the food coloring bottles so it’s one less thing to fuss with.

Even open the bags of sprinkles so they are ready to sprinkle on top of the fudge.

Recipe Notes and FAQ

Why did my fudge not set?

If you don’t heat your fudge enough, it won’t set well. BUT if you overcook it, you’ll end up with grainy fudge.

Why is it called fudge?

This is completely unrelated to actually cooking the fudge but still interesting. Most people believe that fudge got its name after a batch of caramel was ruined or “fudged”.

Does fudge have to be refrigerated?

You don’t have to refrigerate fudge. It’s perfectly fine at room temperature in an airtight container.
