Since most of the rainbow recipes on this blog are some form of sugary candy, let’s try one using nature’s candy, shall we? As soon as the weather gets warmer, I start to crave strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and kiwis like crazy. The list of fruits I love is very long. This ice pops recipe is the perfect way to incorporate a variety to literally eat the rainbow.

What you need to make fresh fruit pops


Here’s what you need to make this recipe. Exact measurements are in the recipe card below.


  • Fresh chopped fruit (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, kiwi, melon)
  • Clear juice (white grapefruit, apple, white grape)
  • Popsicle mold and sticks


Fresh fruit popsicle directions


Carefully place fresh fruit slices or chunks into a popsicle mold, make sure to place some fruit directly against the sides of the mold. Do not over pack the mold.

Pour clear juice over the fruit to fill the mold.

Place sticks into the mixture according to your mold directions.

Freeze for at least 5 hours or overnight.

Carefully remove the popsicles from the mold and serve.

This will make 10-12 standard popsicles, depending on the mold.

Do not over pack the fruit


Make sure you don’t put too much fruit into the mold. You need to allow space for plenty of liquid to freeze around the fruit chunks.

Can I use frozen fruit?


Yes, you can use frozen in place of fresh fruit if you desire.

Too sweet or sugary?


If you’d like to control the sugar a little, use a clear sugar-free juice option. You can also use coconut water or sparkling water as an alternative.
