Have you ever wanted to learn how to make ice cream. You don’t need an ice cream maker to concoct a delicious fresh peach ice cream. Its super easy and you will be amazed how the no churn peach ice cream taste.
The peaches in our food market have been looking pretty good. Perfect for this easy peach ice cream recipe. This old fashion homemade ice cream recipe was inspired when I was looking for recipes that were done back in the colonial time when George Washington was president. Martha and George Washington had peaches in there home. The peaches could be eaten fresh or used to make ice cream. This has been the inspiration behind this recipe. Since its President Day weekend. I thought its the perfect dessert to celebrate such an historical event.
Any peaches are good as long as they fresh and ripe. The ripe ones mix easier.
- 3 cups of fresh ripe peaches
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 3 cups of heavy cream
- 3 cups of half and half
- 2 bowls (small & large)
- Ice cubes
- Peel and chop peaches.
2. Stir together the peaches and 1/2 cup of the sugar.
3. Set aside. the cream to a boiling point, remove from heat, add remaining sugar, stirring to dissolve. Blend the half and half.
4. Mash the peaches, either by hand or food processor. Combine with the cream plus half and half. I did mine chunky and with food processor.
5. Place in a smaller bowl. Cover with plastic wrap tightly. Put the smaller bowl inside a large bowl that is filled with large ice cubes. Place in freezer until frozen.
6. When you remove the bowl to serve the ice cream, let thaw out for about 15 minutes. It will be better to scoop out. Place ice cream layers on top of each other for a mountain of snow effect. The ice cream really is only good for a few days. After several days in freezer it will turn into ice. But the first two days its pretty creamy.
To ensure your homemade ice cream will come out creamy, use heavy cream, half and half or milk with high percentage of milk fat . If the ice cream is made with a lower percentage milk fat, it has the potential to become icy.

Hi! Is something missing in step 3? It starts with "set aside. the cream to a boiling point..."
Thanks.
