Jeera (Cumin) Cookies
I enjoyed these snacks as a kid. These savory jeera cookies will satisfy craving all in one go. They are crispy, buttery and as well as very addictive. They are also known as salt biscuits. We love to enjoy these salted jeera biscuits with our evening tea. If you prefer sweetness, then add 3 to 4 tbsp powdered sugar and beat well with butter.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 cup butter
- 3 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoon Caster sugar
- 2 tablespoon Milk
- salt as required
Instructions
- Take a large bowl and combine castor sugar with butter. Whisk them all together until the mixture becomes creamy & fluffy. Keep it aside.
- Add flour, salt and cumin seeds in a mixing bowl & mix the ingredients well.
- Then, add this dry ingredients to the creamy butter sugar mixture and add milk. Knead the mixture for a stiff dough.
- Preheat the oven at 360 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, roll out a thick sheet of dough in a rectangle shape. Use a cookie cutter to cut out small circles of the dough.
- Place these cookies in the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes or until the biscuits turn golden brown in colour.
- Remove from oven, cool down completely & store in an air-tight container.
Tips
- You can add normal sugar instead of Castor Sugar.
- Adding jeera on the top of the cookies is optional.
- Add salt as per taste.
- Cool these jeera cookies completely to turn crispy.

Is there a mold for the pattern on the cookie?
Ok this is different! I like it. Cumin is one of my favorite spices. Never thought to use in cookies. Bonus? Everything is in my kitchen - no need to run to a store. Middle of the night baking is the best. Thanks for sharing.
