What is a fruit pizza?

Well in the case it’s a cookie that is decorated to look like a pizza but is actually a sweet variety that is topped with fruit.

Fruit pizzas usually have a sauce that is cream cheese and then the toppings are fruit and other sweets. This is definitely not a savory pizza recipe, it is fully in the dessert camp!

Can I make these cookie pizzas in advance?

You can always make the cookies and wait to top them if you want to prepare them in advance. In my experience these are best served the same day since the fruit and the cream cheese will get a little less appealing the longer they hang around uneaten.

Prepping the cookies in advance and decorating them or “topping” the pizzas before serving is an easy solution to that problem if you need to make them ahead of time.

What you’ll need to make these tasty fruit pizzas:

To make these fruit pizzas you will need sugar cookie dough, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, strawberries, and blueberries. That’s it!

There’s nothing complicated in this recipe. You’ll see how simple it is to make these really adorable and tasty cookie pizzas.

You can also add other fruit toppings to your pizzas if you like. Feel free to add things like sliced grapes, kiwi, pineapple, and anything else you like…as long as you don’t mind mixing up the color palette 🙂

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Divide cookie dough into 24 equal pieces, and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. You will likely need to fill two cookie sheets.

Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the oven and let cool for at least 30 minutes.

While cookies are cooling, rinse and remove the stems from the strawberries. Then cup off the sides, and slice the remaining strawberry into 2-3 slices.

Rinse blueberries in cold water.

In a large bowl or bowl of stand mixer, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla on high for 2-3 minutes, until creamy.

Frost each cookie with the frosting mixture.

Remove stems, and slice strawberries

Add one strawberry slice to the center of each cookie.

Add blueberries around the edges of each cookie.

Chill in the refrigerator if not served immediately.

Kitchen Essentials for Delicious Pasta Recipes:

It’s never a bad idea to have some of these kitchen essentials on hand. They’ll come in handy for making more than just this lemon chicken tortellini salad, I promise!

I like half sheet baking pans that are quality (hello no noisy pops or sloshed cookie dough from twisting), I line my cookie sheets with silicone baking mats. These are a must when doing cookie recipes which can stick to cookie sheets and make a general mess!

Of course mixing bowls, a mixer, spatula, and some whisks should be on your list if you don’t have ones that you love. I also like to have a set of cooling racks so that my recipes can properly cool before they’re scarfed down by my family!
