This treat takes me back to my childhood! At this point, we all know that homemade tastes way better than store-bought! I also love that when you make it yourself, it doesn't have any preservatives. These homemade Rice Krispie treats only take a few simple ingredients. It was way easier and cost-effective than I thought. It's a great snack for the family, and it's a guaranteed crowd pleaser. I can't wait for you guys to try this one!

Pro tip: you can take it to the next level for the holidays and add either red and green sprinkles or some red and green M&Ms!

I've made this using Olive Oil it is really good I think better and healthier than using butter or margarine. I've also added spices to it like Cinnamon and Red Chili Flakes for heat

    • Another person that likes to play with their food!

Over the years we have added all sorts of stuff. We have done half rice krispie / half popcorn. Added flavors like brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

And also gone the semi savory route too. Added in finely minced rosemary. And not too much. They all loved it!

And I have even made the marshmallows from scratch too.

  • Can never go wrong with a batch or two of rice krispy treats. Kids and adults love them. I make them for my bubble buddy group as well as the kids and adults at work. Never a crumb left!

We have added candy, popcorn, nuts and they eat them all!

    Thanks for sharing your recipe.

I melt 1 bag of Chocolate Chips and 1 bag of butterscotch chips chips and pour on top of my rice krispys after they are done in the pan.
