I don't know about you, but rice crispy treats were a staple snack in my house growing up. It's almost as if rice crispy treats we the official childhood snack for my friends and I. I also just found out that my boyfriend LOVES them. He didn’t realize I had a recipe and now that’s all he asks for other than my white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. They are so easy to make that I indulge him. My favorite part is tasting them while they are still warm and gooey. They taste pretty darn good when you let them cool down and cut them into bars too. I hope you get a chance to try out this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Marshmallows
  • 3 T Unsalted Butter
  • 3 1/2 c Rice Crispy Cereal
Instructions

In a saucepan, melt your butter on low heat.
Add the marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir the mixture until all of the marshmallows have melted.
Now add in your rice crispy cereal and mix until it’s all combined.
Take a piece of parchment paper and line your baking pan. I’m using half of a 9x13 pan. You can double this recipe to fill the full 9x13 pan if you like.
Pour your rice crispy treats into half the pan and press them down evenly. It is easier if you use another small piece of parchment to do this. It keeps the rice krispies from sticking to your hand.
Once the rice crispy treats are cool, lift them up out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut them into squares. Now it’s time to enjoy them!

My favorite recipe for Rice Crispy Treats is this 5 minute version:

    4 TBSP Butter

    10 oz. of Marshmallows

    5 1/2 - 6 Cups Rice Crispys

Butter & Marshmallows in large microwave bowl on high for 2 minutes

Whip butter and marshmallows until well mixed

    Add Rice Crispys

Mix well and dump onto lightly buttered baking sheet

Soak your hands in water and press the mix into one large rectangle

Cool and cut into individual servings
