Steps to Prepare Delicious Apple Bar Dessert

Prepare Delicious Apple

Step One

To prepare apple pie crumble bars, you must make a buttery dough. So, mix butter, flour, and sugar in a bowl. Then, you can mix cold water, if needed.

Once your buttery dough is formed, take 2/3 of it and place it on a baking tray. Carefully top down the dough, so it gets even.

Step Two

In this step, you will learn how to make the tangy apple filling. First, add peeled and sliced apple pieces to the bowl. Next, put granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, cornstarch, and ground nutmeg.

Put a layer of spicy and tangy apple filling in the baking pan on top of the flat dough. Then take the remaining 1/3 of the dough and crumble it with chopped walnuts. Add it to the top of your apple pie dish bar.

Put the baking pan inside an already heated oven. Let it bake for 40 minutes. Then take out the dish, let it cool, and serve.

Apple Pie Bars
  • If you want to cut down on gluten, you can make gluten-free apple bars using gluten-free bars. You can also add vanilla extract, sea salt, and baking powder to make your gluten-free apple pie bars more delicious.
  • Take your delicious apple pie bars to a new level by drizzling a generous amount of caramel topping.

What apples should I use for simple apple pie bars?

Usually, the same variety of apples that you use for apple pie will also work for your apple pie bars. However, the apple mustn’t lose shape when baking the dish.

The most preferred apples are Granny Smith and Honeycrisp. These apples not only stay in shape but also offer a perfect blend of tart and sweet flavors. Besides this, you can also use Pink Lady, Braeburn, and Gala.

Can I store baked apple pie bars?

Yes, you can refrigerate and store baked apple pie bars just like you would store traditional apple pie. You can keep the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. This method keeps the bars fresh for up to 3 days.

Or you can freeze the apple pie bars for three months. Don’t drizzle caramel topping if you decide to freeze them. Instead, take the refrigerated apple pie bars and thaw them overnight. Add caramel topping.
