If you love S’mores as much as we do, you have to try this S’mores Cheeseball! It takes everything that is awesome about the classic recipe of s’mores and rolls it up into a delicious cheese ball for a fun dessert!

Dessert Cheese Balls are a really easy dessert that are always a huge hit at BBQ’s, potlucks and more. I love a sweet dip for a dessert appetizer and some of my favorite sweet cheese balls are no bake desserts like red velvet dip and cake batter dip.

While I love the flavors of traditional s’mores, I don’t actually enjoy eating them. They’re just so messy to me. So this s’mores cheeseball is a great way to get all of the flavors I love – chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallow!

How to Make a S’mores Cheeseball

For the Cheeseball you will need:

  • 2 8oz Packages Cream Cheese at room temperature
  • ½ Cup Marshmallow fluff
  • ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
  • ½ Cup Marshmallow Bits

For the topping:

  • 5 Graham Crackers
  • 1/3 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
  • 1/3 Cup Marshmallow Bits

In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine cream cheese and marshmallow crème until light and fluffy, add in vanilla and gradually mix in powdered sugar. You can also use a hand mixer and a large bowl, but I do not suggest trying to do this by hand.

Combine mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallows into your cheese ball mixture by gently folding them in until they are evenly distributed through the marshmallow mixture.

Lay out a piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface and scoop the mixture into the middle of it.

Use the plastic wrap to help form a large round ball and wrap tightly. Place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

After refrigerating it is time to coat the cheeseball.

Place your graham crackers in a large zip seal bag and using a rolling pin or mallet crush them into crumbs. If you would like to use a food processor, you can use that instead.

Now it’s time to coat the cheeseball. There are a couple of ways to approach it, so you can pick the one that works best for you.

This is a relatively soft cheeseball, even after refrigeration so don’t be alarmed when you unwrap it if it seems soft.

Mix together the graham cracker crumbs, marshmallows and chocolate chips on a shallow dish and roll the cheeseball around in the mixture to coat it (this can be messy, but is quick and gets a pretty even coating of everything.). (as pictured)

Or you can place the cheeseball on a shallow plate and press the graham cracker crumbs onto the outside of the cheese ball. Then brush off the excess and press the chocolate chips and marshmallows onto the outside. This way makes it easier to keep the shape of the cheeseball and control the distribution of chocolate chips and marshmallows.

Before serving, let your cheeseball “defrost” a bit on the counter so that the cheese softens for dipping.

What to Serve for Dipping

Serve immediately with:

  • a graham cracker dipper
  • nilla wafers,
  • animal crackers,
  • pretzels
  • or any other cookie that compliments the s’mores flavor.

There are so many fun variations on the classic s mores and this s mores cheese ball is just one of them. On your next camping trip, put the traditional s’mores a break around the camp fire and try this fantastic recipe instead!

Can I make my cheeseball in advance?

Yes! Cheeseballs are perfect to make in advance since they need to be refrigerated for their flavors to meld together. To make this great treat in advance you can make the cheeseball and keep it refrigerated for up to a couple of days and coat right before serving.

How long can my s mores cheeseball sit out?

Because we are using cream cheese, you don’t want your cheeseball to sit out for more than 2 hours. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container.

I can’t find dehydrated marshmallows, where can I find them?

These are a tricky ingredient! If they are not near the marshmallows, there are 2 places they are usually hiding: by the hot chocolate or by the ice cream toppings, I also linked to them in the ingredients above.
